Flatirons Habitat for Humanity is a locally run affiliate of Habitat for Humanity International, a nonprofit, ecumenical Christian housing organization. Habitat for Humanity works in partnership with people in need to build and renovate decent, affordable housing. The houses then are sold to those in need at no profit and with no interest charged.
The Flatirons affiliate was founded in July of 1993 and serves the area of the Boulder Valley School District and all of Broomfield, Niwot, and Erie. To date, Flatirons Habitat for Humanity has built 63 homes and 4 more are in progress. The hope of homeownership seems at best an elusive dream for the over 49,500 hard-working families in the Boulder Valley community who have unmet housing needs- your support will help make that dream come true, one family at a time.
Together we truly are building houses, building hope and transforming lives!

HABITAT FOR HUMANITY OVERVIEW
Habitat for Humanity International, is a nonprofit, ecumenical Christian housing ministry. HFHI seeks to eliminate poverty housing and homelessness from the world, and to make decent shelter a matter of conscience and action. Habitat invites people of all backgrounds, races and religions to build houses together in partnership with families in need. Habitat has built more than 350,000 houses around the world, providing more than 750,000 people in more than 3,000 communities with safe, decent, affordable shelter. HFHI was founded in 1976 by Millard Fuller along with his wife Linda
Through volunteer labor and donations of money and materials, Habitat builds and rehabilitates simple, decent houses with the help of the homeowner (partner) families. Habitat houses are sold to partner families at no profit, financed with affordable, no-interest loans. The homeowners' monthly mortgage payments are used to build still more Habitat houses. Habitat is not a giveaway program. In addition to a down payment and the monthly mortgage payments, homeowners invest hundreds of hours of their own labor -- sweat equity -- into building their Habitat house and the houses of others.
